8th Grade Graduation Requirement

In order to participate in the graduation ceremony students must have no more than eight failing grades on their semester report cards combined during their 7th and 8th grade years (example - fail four classes during 7th grade and four during 8th grade). For the class of 2013, they must have no more than four failing grades on their semester report cards for the year. Also, during their 8th grade year, students need to have 10 or fewer absences (not including documented medical excuses) each semester.

The purpose of these requirements is to stress the importance of grades and attendance and to prepare students for high school, as they will have more stringent requirements to graduate from high school in School District #2. Not being allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony does not prevent a student from moving on to high school.
