Substitute Positions

Substitutes for teachers and support staff are always in demand at Lockwood School District #26. If you are interested in working as a substitute, please stop by the administration office and pick up an application or call Melissa Kittelmann at 252-6022 .

~Teachers
It is preferred that substitute teachers be certified. Certified substitute teachers will be paid $77 a day and non-certified substitute teachers will receive $72 per day. It is required that non-certified substitute teachers have some college credit.

~Paraprofessionals
Lockwood Schools are seeking friendly, caring people to work as teaching assistants and/or food service substitutes. Short hours during the school day make this a good employment opportunity for moms or for senior citizens who may want to supplement their incomes. Substitutes for support staff will be paid an hourly rate of $8.75. After 200 hours, Instructional subs receive a (One Time) $1 per hour pay increase along with a $200 bonus.  Click on the Support Staff Substitute Application link to download an application form.

~Custodial Staff
Custodial substitutes are needed. There are two shifts for custodial work. One shift is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The other shift is from 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. The rate of pay is $10.75 per hour. ~Food Service
Sodexo provides food service for Lockwood Schools. Those interested in substitute work need to call Sodexo at 281-5875.

Authorization to Release Information Form - Background Check

Fingerprints are now required with background checks.

Background Check Fingerprinting Process

  1. Applicant will have fingerprinting done.
    •Local law enforcement agencies can provide fingerprinting services.
    •Crime Prevention Center @ 2910 3rd Avenue North, 247-8590
    •Security by Kenco located at 3416 1st Avenue North.
    •A $10 fee will be charged at the Crime Prevention Center or Security by Kenco location.
  2. The fingerprint card along with your check for $27.25 made payable to Montana Criminal Records will be sent by Lockwood Schools to Montana Criminal Records in Helena.
  3. Under the laws the report sent to the district may be shared with other districts or entities with the signature of the individual. A person’s report may be copied and given to the individual.
  4. If the applicant has already undergone the fingerprinting process the authorization to release must be filled out and signed by the applicant. Please indicate to where the request should be sent.

*All employees, including substitutes, must have a TB test.
