Any person present who wishes to address the board or raise any question about public school district matters or governing policies may do so under public participation. No discussion of personnel or individual students is permitted at this time. A limit of three minutes is placed on each speaker. Persons who want more time may make arrangements to be placed on a future agenda. The public is also reminded that they may provide input on all motions being considered by the board at this meeting.

Meeting Minutes


Call to Order

Chair Tim Sather opened the Building Committee Work Session meeting at 12:00 p.m. and began with leading those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The following trustees/committee members and officers were present: Trustees Tim Sather, Scott Kiekover, Pamela Ask, Superintendent Tobin Novasio and Technology Coordinator Darlene Hess. Tony Derrig and Collaborative Design Architect, Nick Pancheau, were also in attendance. Clerk Laurie Noonkester was absent.

The Building Committee/Trustees met in a work session to review the information presented from Collaborative Design.

Items discussed upon where:

  1. Feedback from Community Meeting – Discussion was held

  2. Mailer Schedule and Content –
    1. (handout) mailer on Voter Information, Nick Pancheau would like feedback, he will rework and will mail the information on April 9th to the full list (about 3600) households.
    2. Have education committee try to get voter registration cards out as well.

  3. Other Community Engagement Opportunities –
    1. Flyers will be available for music programs: kindergarten April 5th and 4th Grade May 3rd
    2. Chad Hanson and Tobin Novasio have a radio interview tomorrow (March 28) and have another radio interview with all the Town Square Media radio stations the day ballots go out, also Q2 that week as well.
    3. The community Easter egg on hunt March 31 is another place to share information as is the Kindergarten roundup on April 18, the celebrity basketball game on April 19th and the opening day of baseball on April 14th.
    4. Sodexo will donate money toward a mailer. First Student will lend buses for advertising.
    5. April 18th and April 25th will be a community meeting in MS Commons to answer any questions people may have.

  4. Next Steps – Tobin Novasio reported that the Education committee has been active and
    amazing.
